Services for Fern McLaughlin age 76 of Farwell, Texas will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Steed Todd Chapel with Chris Downer officiating. Burial will follow at the Texico Cemetery in Texico, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Ray McCall, Guy Silva, Gene Davis, Ricky Sharp, Ryan Sharp and Jerry Cochran. Fern was born February 16, 1932 in Gillham, Arkansas to Roy and Savannah Atchley. She passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at her home in Farwell. She went to work at the Hotel Clovis in 1962 and worked there for 17 years. She was later employed with several motels in Clovis. She loved to dance and spend time with all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Diane McLaughlin and one sister Alene Parker.

She is survived by four daughters Barbara Sharp Ray McCall of Farwell, Texas, son in-law Rocky Sharp of Portales, New Mexico, Patricia Guy Silva of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Shirley Tommy Mayfield of Benton, Arkansas, Lishia, Jerry Cochran of Willisville, Illinois; two sons James McLaughlin of Little Rock, Arkansas, Bill Paula Atchley of Sheridan, Arkansas; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one sister Leona Kieth Drake of Clovis and her loving and devoted friend Karen Dane of Clovis.
