Floyd Embry of Farwell, Texas passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at his home. He was born June 8, 1922 in Davidson, Oklahoma to Joseph Euell and Lula Wright Embry. He served in the Army Air Force in the South Pacific, New Guinea, Philippines and Japan from 1942 1945 during WWII. He married Betty Engelking September 26, 1953 in Muleshoe, Texas. Floyd worked as a bookkeeper at the Cotton Gin at Clays Corner north of Muleshoe for 13 years. He was a farmer also and served as deacon and then as an elder at the Farwell Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife Betty of the Home son Eldon Embry of the Home son Weldon Sherry of Farwell, Texas daughter Estelle Brian Eckstein of Colorado Springs, Colorado brother Chester Embry of Muleshoe, Texas sister Lula Maye Shanks of Muleshoe, Texas grandchildren Rachel Embry of Dallas, Texas, Brandon Amanda Embry of Farwell, Texas, Holly Aaron Fletcher of Carrollton, Texas, Cindy Brad Hall of Denver, Colorado, Tammy Eckstein of Carrollton, Texas, Ethan Jenna Eckstein of Abilene, Texas, Dawson Embry of Amarillo, Texas four greatgrandchildren Maddy Fletcher of Carrollton, Texas, Bethany Hall of Denver, Colorado, Mikali and Daniel Embry of Farwell, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Joe Embry, Calvin Embry and Ray Embry at an early age in his life.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 10:00 am CST at the Farwell Church of Christ in Farwell, Texas. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
