Franklin Ice

Franklin Frank Ice, age 79 of Clovis, NM passed away on February 25, 2014 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM.

Frank was born on September 28, 1934 in New Martinsville, West Virginia to Clarence and Bertha Lancaster Ice. He married Fern Hankins on October 9, 2004 in Albuquerque, NM. Frank retired as Chief Master Sargent after thirtythree years in the United States Air Force. He served three tours in Vietnam. Frank was very instrumental in the founding of the Bread of Life at Matt 25. He was a volunteer with RSVP and the New Mexico State Ombudsman and was a member of 21st Street Church of Christ in Clovis.

Frank is survived by his wife Fern of the home one son: Marvin Virginia Ice of Wolfforth, TX two daughters: Karen Lard of Hobbs, NM and Catherine Ice of Ogden, UT three stepsons: Joe Jotonna Hankins of Clovis, NM, Richard Vera Hankins of Edgewood, NM and Mike Gena Hankins of Clovis, NM one sister: Bonnie Ueltschy of Porters Falls, WV ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents his first wife, Vonda, in 2000 three sisters: Nina Shepard, Ruby Dulaney and Pearl Ogdin and one brother Charles Ice.

Funeral services are at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 21st Street Church of Christ with Rick Hankins officiating and Larry Tittle assisting. Burial is at 12:45 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Casket bearers are David Smith, Steven Lard, Kyle Fasig, Joe Hankins, Joseph Fasig, Darryl Baldwin, Kenny Wilhite and Jason Hankins. Honorary casket bearers are Ron Johnson, Doc Lancaster, Mike Hankins, John Bross, Ken Cable, Paul Burch and Carrel Dennington.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Christians Childrens Home, 1356 NM 236, Portales, NM 88130.
