Fred L Brumbelow Sr, 92, born on April 6, 1924 to Marshall and Laura Brumbelow in Hornsby, TN. Fred went to be with the Lord on September 27, 2016.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, his wife of 71 years Hazel and one granddaughter.
Fred and hazel were active members of Parkland Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He served in the Army and fought in WWII where he was a P.O.W. and earned a purple heart. After serving in the Army he went on to get his Bachelors at Union University and his masters and Ed specialist degree at ENMU. Then he went into the Army Reserves where he retired as a warrant officer. He taught math at Clovis High and at Floyd High School.
Fred loved to play golf and canasta, enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk and he loved to make people laugh and smile. Friends and family were very important to him.
He is survived by one sister Sue, two sons Fred Jr. (Wendy) of Odessa, TX, Mike of Clovis, two granddaughters Andrea Allan of Odessa, TX, and Dianna Brumbelow of Clovis, NM, and four great grands, Rachel, Ashley, David and Cole.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 30, 2016 at 10:00am at Steed Todd Chapel, with burial to follow at Lawn Haven, with Wayne Boydston officiating.
