Gary Robinson

Gary Douglas Robinson, 63, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Gary was born September 9, 1951 in Amherst, Texas to Leon and Martha Jo Lance Robinson. After high school he joined the U.S. Army and served our country in Vietnam. He was employed in the natural gas industry for over 30 years.

He had a great love for the game of baseball his entire life. Rather it be playing professional baseball himself, watching his grandkids play, or scouting. Upon his retirement he wanted to get back into the game somehow. With hard work and dedication he successfully completed courses with Sports Management World Wide and received his certification. He decided to put his lifetime of knowledge about baseball to good use and became a MLB scout for the Los Angeles Angels. Gary continued to scout until his passing.

He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, Debbie. He was always up for a road trip often times ending up at a casino. He was very passionate about being Super Papa to his 6 grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

Gary is preceded in death by his mother Martha Jo Robinson.

He is survived by his wife Debbie, the love of his life 2 children, Tara Gerou Gregg of Jackson, Michigan and Chris Robinson Mary of Stockbridge, Michigan 3 stepchildren, Candace Morrison of Clovis, New Mexico, Tanner Christesson of Melrose, New Mexico, and Teral Christesson of Melrose, New Mexico 6 grandchildren, Carson, Easton, Kalyn, Harlie, Drew and Rylan. His father, Leon Robinson and 2 siblings Brenda Robinson and Roger Glen Robinson of Amherst, Texas.

A visitation is scheduled for 5 8 pm, Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Services will be held 3:00 pm, Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at SteedTodd Chapel. Interment will follow services at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association in his honor.
