Gene H. Qualls age 29 of Portales died Friday, April 25, 2008 in Portales. Services will be held Monday, April 28, 2008 at Steed Todd Chapel at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Wayne Boydstun officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Gene was born March 9, 1979 in Clovis, New Mexico to Steve and Carol Berry Qualls.

He graduated from Broken Bow High School. After graduation he worked for different tire companies in Broken Bow before moving to Clovis. When in Clovis he worked as a mechanic and then moved to Portales in 2007. He was currently employed with Levacy Sprinkler where he was a sprinkler technician. He loved to laugh and joke around with people and being with his family. He was an avid collector of guns and knives and enjoyed building models, playing with his pet snake and NASCAR.
He is survived by his son Steven Qualls of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; mother Carol Qualls and Step Father Mike Williams of Clovis; sister Betty Dollarhide of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; half-brother Cody Callaway of Kentucky; grand parents Joe and Minnie Berry of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; grandmother Joy Williams of Clovis; special niece Elizabeth Qualls of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews, his fianc Felicia Perry and her children Justin, Kevin and Lynsey Perry all of Portales. Pallbearers will be Cody Callaway, Mike Williams, Austin Parmer, Jimmie Southern, Curtis Callaway, Brian Johnson, Steve Berry, and Johnny Berry. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin and Kevin Perry.
