Services for Geneva Daugherty age 79 of Clovis will be held Monday, January 5, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at Steed Todd Chapel with Rev. Wayne Boydstun officiating burial will follow at the Castro Memorial Gardens in Dimmitt, Texas. Pallbearers will be John Earl Daugherty, Neal Daugherty, Otis Shawger, Gary Gomez, Roger Westberry, and Jamie Wenzel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryan Wenzel, Paul Wenzel, Richard Shawger, and Seth Shawger.

Geneva was born March 28, 1929 in Dimmitt, Texas to Joseph Neal and Eva Elizabeth Van Alstine Cooper. She passed away on Saturday, January 03, 2009 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. She was raised in Dimmitt and married John Daugherty on December 1, 1945 in Plainview, Texas. They moved to Olton, Texas and later moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where they spent 14 years owning and operating the Del Norte Truck Stop and Caf. The moved to Clovis in 1979 and she worked for New Mexico Mill and Elevator as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Forrest Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed oil painting.

She is survived by one Son John Daugherty of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three daughters Neva Wenzel of Placitas, New Mexico, Patty Turner and Terrie Shawger of Clovis; fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, three sisters and one grandson.
