Geneva Russell, 90, formerly of Clovis, died Sunday, September 11, 2005, at Clare Bridge in Highlands Ranch, Colorado where she llved for the last 2 years. brbrShe was born Aprll 24, 1915, in Harrisburg, Missouri. when she was four, her father bought a farm and moved the family to La Junta, Colorado. She graduated from La Junta High School ln 1933. She married A.V. Al or Shorty Russell on May 19, 1935. They lived in La Junta until 1941 when the couple moved to Clovis where A.V. went tobrwork for the Santa Fe Railroad. Geneva retired in 1979 after working as the manager of the Sandia Elementary School cafeteria for almost 20 years.brbrShe was a charter member of Parkland Baptist Church where she taught a womens Sunday school class for several years. Geneva enjoyed shopping, being an excellent homemaker, cooking, and traveling. But, perhaps, most of all she loved and enjoyed her family and the Lord.brbrGeneva was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters and one brother.brShe is survived by two sons, Ronnie Russell Lou of Las Cruoes, New Mexico, and Jim Russell Judy of Centennial, Colorado; a sister, Vivian Bauske of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three grandsons, David Russell Emily of Mora, New Mexico, Paul Russell Shelly of Centennial, Colorado, and Chris Russell Katherine of Lone Tree, Colorado; and six great-grandchildren, Hailey Katherine, Diana Kay, Jake Andrew, Luke Allen, Brandon Dean, and Christian Russell.brbrHonorary Pallbearers are the grandsons, Chris, David, and Paul Russell. A graveside senrice will be at 10:00 am Thursday at Lawn Haven Cemetery. A reception and lunch wlll immediately follow the service at Parkland Baptist Church. Doug Brooks.
