Geneva Spriggs

Geneva Spriggs, age 93, died November 9, 2010 at Retirement Ranch in Clovis, New Mexico. She was born on September 5, 1917 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Ida Scantlin and Ed Martin.

Geneva was a long time Clovis resident, moving here when she was 7 years old. She loved to sew, crochet, needle point and quilt, and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty Strange of Clovis two sons, Cecil Spriggs of Clovis and Ace Spriggs of Pueblo, CO one sister Dolly Slaughter of Shallowater, TX five grandchildren, Jerrod Susan Strange of Portales, NM Sheri Danny Porter of Pueblo, CO Lee, Jacob and John Spriggs, all of Pueblo, CO and six greatgrandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter Spriggs, stepson Gerald Spriggs four brothers, John, Jim, Homer, and Preston Martin two sisters, Mary White and Vera Williams sonin law Dean Strange and daughterinlaw Rose Spriggs.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 12 at SteedTodd Chapel with Pastor Joe Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories. Casket bearers will be Jerrod Strange, Jack Alsup, Lee Spriggs, Danny Porter and John Spriggs. The family will be gathering at 1620 Avondale in Clovis.
