George M. Paiz, 90, of Clovis, NM entered into eternal peace on April 2, 2018 in Clovis. He was born on September 14, 1927 in Encino, NM to Nicholas and Eumelia Martinez Paiz.
George served for the United States Army and was a WWII Veteran. He was married on June 11, 1945 to the love of his life, Erlinda Flores. They were married for 61 years until her passing. George retired from the railroad as a welder. After retirement, he kept himself busy with his welding skills and enjoyed building birdhouses. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Nicholas and Eumelia Paiz and his wife, Erlinda Paiz. He leaves behind: son, Nick (Patsy) Paiz of Clovis; daughters, Georgia (Lars) Arndt of Brewster, MN, Marcella Paiz, Viola Paiz, and Gina Paiz of Clovis; sister, Celina (Joe) Brito of Leyba, NM; plus 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by everyone.
Steed Todd Funeral Home will host visitation on Friday, April 6th, 9:00am to 8:00pm, Saturday, April 7th, 9:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, April 8th, 12:00pm to 5:00pm. A Rosary will be recited Monday, April 9th at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11:30am, with Fr. Simon Carian officiating. Interment will be at Mission Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Marez, Sr., Shaun Paiz, Jimmy Marez, Benny Byam, James Guster, Jason Guster and Ronnie Marez, Jr. Honorary bearers are Victor Chavez, Fred Chavez, Albert Chavez, Joe Chavez, and Julian Chavez.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at the Retirement Ranch and Kindred Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
The family will be gathering at 420 Merrill Drive, on Sunday, April 8th from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, all are welcome.
