George Carr Patterson, 79, of Clovis, died Monday, April 17, 2006, at Plains. Regional Medical Center.brHe was born Oct. 14, 1926, in Electra, Texas, to Joe W. and Nelle Morris Patterson. He married Norma Ealy on June 22, 1996, in Clovis. He attended the University of Arkansas and the University of New Mexico, and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 42 years. He was a past master of Clovis Masonic Lodge No. 40 and member of the Elks Lodge, First United Methodist Church men's Bible class, Scottish Rite and Bailut Abyad Shrine, and a charter member of Kingswood United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing, reading, painting and traveling, family members said.brbrHe was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Evelyn Patterson; and one brother, Joe W. Patterson Jr.brbrHe is survived by his wife, of Clovis; two daughters, Jackie Colleen Duffey and husband, Mark of Albuquerque, and Dawn D'Ann Hartfiel Jacque of Maple Valley, Wash.; two granddaughters, Julie Murray Benjamin of Rio Rancho, and Wendy Duffey of Albuquerque; two great-grandchildren, Justyn Carr and Hunter Jeffrey Murray; a sister, Dorothy Nelle Williams of Kerrville, Texas; and one brother, Kenneth M. Patterson Linda of Poison, Mont.brbrServices will be held on Thursday at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Ran Loy and the Rev. Dr. Herbert Bergstrom will officiate services. Pallbearers will be J. C. Smith, Johnnie Evans, Gene Gibbs, Derle Keith, David Shober. and Bill Shaw. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Masonic Lodge No. 40 and Bailut Abyad Shrine.
