Gladys Fitz

Gladys Henrietta Kirby Fitz of Texico, New Mexico passed away on Wednesday,
March 20, 2013, at the age of 91. She was born March 15, 1922, in Enid, Oklahoma to Clifford E and Floretta Mae Kirby. She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School. She had been a longtime resident of Eastern New Mexico.

Ms. Fitz, or Nonnie, as she was sometimes called, taught the 3year old Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Texico for many years and babysat for over 20 years in her home. She volunteered at the Texico Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed visiting and playing dominoes with the members.

Those left to cherish her memory are her six children: Delton Fitz and wife Vickie of Lubbock, Texas Don Fitz and wife Beverly of Clovis, New Mexico Pam Overstreet of La Habra, California Rayford Fitz of Plainview, Texas Valerie Short and husband Dave of Monee, Illinois Carletta Renfro and husband Steve of Tahoka, Texas brother: J D Kirby of Fruita, Colorado 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and two greatgreat grandchildren. Her great grandchildren and greatgreat grandchildren lovingly called her Nonnie.

Services will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at 2:00 at the First Baptist Church of Texico with Pastor Rob Hollis officiating. Interment will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will accept visitors at 885 SR 77 on the Pleasant Hill Highway.
