Gladys Thomas

Gladys Ruth Thomas, age 95, of Grady, died on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. She was born on July 15, 1916 in Grady to Clyde and Clara Kamradt Stanfield.

Gladys was a resident of Grady all of her life, an avid Grady sports fan and an excellent cook. She married F.P. Buster Thomas on May 2, 1936 in Grady. Her family and the Grady community were very important in her life. She was a very loving mother and grandmother, and was a member of Grady Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Sue Tommy Ricketson of Amistad, NM one daughterinlaw, Janis Thomas Rowe of Ruidoso, NM four grandchildren, Lee Sheila Thomas of Grady, NM , Troy Alma Ricketson of Weatherford, MI, Andy Ricketson of Logan, NM, and Joeli Bill Cathey of Dora, NM 11 greatgrandchildren five greatgreatgrandchildren and one brother, Clyde Ray Barbara Stanfield of Albuquerque, NM.

Gladys is preceded in death by her parents husband one son, Cecil Thomas one grandson, Matthew Ricketson three brothers, Clarence, Ralph and Ed Stanfield four sisters, Violet Stanfield, Florence Stanfield, Dorothy Blair and Kathryn Stone.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Grady United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Grady Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Andy Ricketson, Marcus Ricketson, Troy Ricketson, Dalton Thomas, Bill Cathey, and Lee Thomas. Honorary casket bearers are all of Gladys family, friends and neighbors.
