Glen Dale Spell, age 85, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Glen was born on June 27, 1926 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Marvin and Dolly Mae Young Spell.
Glen was a longtime resident of Clovis, New Mexico. He served in the South Pacific in WWII in the United States Navy. He owned and operated S S Supermarket with his partner Carroll Hatter for many years until his retirement in 2004. He was very supportive of the Clovis Wildcats. He was also a member of 16th Pile Church of Christ.
Mr. Spell is survived by one daughter, Cathy Sanders and her husband Cliff of Amarillo, TX three sons, Mike Spell and his wife Candy of Texico, NM, Jim Spell and his wife Carolyn, and Sandy Spell of Clovis, NM two sisters, Coellen Hooker of Laramie, WY and Maurine Dugan of Lovington, NM four grandchildren, Chris Spell, Alisha Richardson, Sheila Garcia, and Summer Cagle five great grandchildren, Noah Spell, Reagan Garcia, Brynn Garcia, Reese Garcia, and Jackson Cagle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Dolly Mae Spell his wife, Evelyn Spell on January 30, 2006 and one sister Vada Weitzel.
Services will be held on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the 16th Pile Church of Christ at 10:00 a.m. with Allen McKinney, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis. Serving as Casket Bearers are, Raymon Garcia, Steven Cagle, Colt Richardson, Mike Wyatt, Carroll Hatter, and Jim Casaus
