Gloria Joy, 68, of Clovis died on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at her home. She was born on February 4, 1942 to Jessie Romero and Alfredo Armijo in Clovis, NM.

Gloria attended school at Our Lady of Guadalupe and Sacred Heart Catholic Churches. She married Ronald Joy on August 1, 1959 in Clovis, and moved with him during his time in service. They moved back to Clovis where they retired. She was a member and Lay Eucharist Minister at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and making chili stew and tortillas.

Gloria is survived by her husband Ronald Joy of Clovis three sons, Ronnie Joy and Paul Felicia Joy, both of Clovis, and Shawn Kristin Joy of Belleview, IL five sisters, Fabbie Bob Bane, of Richmond, IN, Tonie Trinny Chavez of Santa Rosa, NM, Virginia Montoya, Hope Mere Baca, and Teresa Eddie Gomez , all of Clovis two brothers, Danny Armijo of Clovis and Eddie Armijo of El Paso, TX aunt, Chowita Romero of Albuquerque, NM six grandchildren two greatgrandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents Alfredo and Jessie Armijo and two sisters, Ann Spahn and Lucy Baca.

A Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Carlos Chavez officiating. Cremation has taken place. Burial will follow at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
