Gloria Tomlinson

Gloria Jeanne Tomlinson was born on January 6, 1942, in Albany, CA. She passed away on September 1, 2017 in Armona, CA at the age of 75. She grew up in New Mexico and spent most of her adult years living in San Angelo, TX and Midland, TX. She moved to Armona in 2010.

Gloria was a homemaker. She was a very good cook, something that she enjoyed immensely. She was very talented and enjoyed many interests such as sewing, crocheting, quilting, and cake decorating. If she took up almost any craft hobby she became good at in very short order.

Gloria was a people person. For many years, she also worked as a cook at San Angelo Central High School. She enjoyed this job as it gave her the opportunity to interact not only with co-workers but the students as well. At her church, New Testament Baptist Church, Hanford, CA; she was the self-proclaimed "church grandma", a title she earned and lived up to. If she knew you, she loved you. She loved her church and was very faithful. She was actively involved in every area of church life.

Gloria was preceded in death by her father Earl Nichols and her mother Jeanne Bradley. She was also preceded by her brother Michael Alan Nichols. In addition, she was preceded by her husbands, Thomas L. King and M.T. Tomlinson. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Sue Viola. She is survived by her brother Jack (Joan) Nichols of Jacksonville, FL, and her sister Patricia (Carl) Ashton Laasch also of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by her daughter Rosalie Snyder of Midland, TX, her son Thomas (Glenda) King of Hanford, CA, her son Leland King of Hanford, CA, her daughter Shereen (Dan) Glasscock of Christoval, TX, and her daughter Rhonda Ledbetter of Plainview, TX. She is also survived by her twenty grandchildren: Dusty Ledbetter, David Ledbetter, Joshua Glasscock, Jacob Glasscock, Cody Jane M. Glasscock, Lana McCleary, Rehannon King, Kevin King, Hannah King, Jonathan King, Seth King, Rachel King, Jimmie Lyn Madison, Hellen Michelle Hernandez, Athena Haselton, Christopher Snyder, Thomas Snyder, Clayton Snyder, Frank Viola, and Russell Viola. In addition, she is survived by thirty-three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Gloria's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all of her doctors who cared for her. They would also like to express their gratitude to her church for the love they showed her.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 1pm at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis, New Mexico.
