Gordon Wayne Hayes, 75, of Clovis, died Monday, March 20, 2006, at Plains Regional Medical Center. Born Oct. 24, 1930, in Barberton, Ohio, to Homer and Myrtle Hayes, he retired from the Air Force as a senior master sergeant after 30 years of service. He was a life member of Clovis Elk's Lodge 1244, where he served as secretary. Family members said he loved to play golf and cards.brbrHe was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Ernest Renner; and a sister, Carolyne Meeks.brbrHe is survived by his wife, Jean A. Hayes; a son, W. Jon Hayes and wife, Pat of Clovis; a granddaughter, Amanda J. Hayes of Florida; a brother, Cleon Bill Billings Audrey of Stone Mountain, Ga.; a sister, Norma Romaine Bill of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and two aunts, Pearl Buck and Martha Dailey, both of Akron, Ohio.brbrCremation has taken place.brbrServices will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge 1244. Military honors will be conducted by the Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard.
