Guy Leeder

alignjustify Guy Garland Leeder passed away April 2, 2007 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX at the age of 64 of kidney disease. Guy was born July 21, 1942 in Sealey, TX to Wilma Purdy Leeder and Virgil Leeder.

alignjustify Guy married Paulette Marie Price on December 25, 1968 in Clovis. Guy is survived by his wife Paulette of the home; daughter Laura Leeder and granddaughter, Taya Marie Leeder both of Clovis; father, Virgil Leeder; brother, Gregory Leeder of SC; sister, Sharon Dalton Jolley of Huntsville, TX; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill and Pauline Campbell, of Clovis and R. D. and Linda Price of Branson, MO; seven nieces and two nephews. Guy was preceded in death by his mother Wilma Jean Leeder and a daughter Taya Brooke Leeder.

alignjustify In addition to being a loving husband and father, Guy was an Electrical Contractor, owning and operating Guys Electric since 1974. He was a member of the Advent Christian Church, a past Jaycee member and president. He belonged to the Home Builders Association of Eastern New Mexico where he too was a past president. He served as the New Mexico Amateur Softball Associations ASA, District 4 Director and President of the Board of ASA. Guy was instrumental in beginning the Clovis Softball Association and building the Clovis Softball Complex that now bears his name. Guy was also a member of the Curry County 42 League Ranchvale Team.

alignjustify Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 6, 2007 at the Marshall Junior High Auditorium with Greg Martin officiating. Casket bearers will be Joe Bennett, Don Clifton, Jim Denton, Jim Hunsucker, Drooper Greenwalt, Eric Roanhaus, Robert Thornton, Stuart Stratton, and Steve Wilson.

alignjustify Honorary casket bearers will be the many softball team members who played for Guy, whos coaching career spanned over 3 decades.

alignjustify The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Taya Leeder Scholarship Fund in care of Clovis Municipal Schools and can be dropped off at 1009 Main Street, Clovis, NM 88101, or mailed to same address: Attn: Sherry Dominguez and note on the check for Taya Leeder Scholarship Fund.
