H. J. Jake Lee, 90, of Clovis, New Mexico died Monday, March 5, 2007 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. He was born February 8, 1917 in McAlister, New Mexico to W. C. Laura Hogue Lee.

He was raised in the McAlister and House areas and graduated from McAlister, High School. He attended McMurray College in Abilene, Texas. He married Leona Adkins May 1, 1982 in House, New Mexico. He farmed ranched in the McAlister and House area until he retired in 1994. For several years he served on the House School Board and The House Coop Board. He served for 25 years on the board of the Federal Land Bank in Tucumcari.

He is survived by his wife, Leona of the home; 3 sons, Bob Lee Doris of McAlister, New Mexico, Bill Lee of House, New Mexico and Jerry Lee of McAlister, New Mexico; 2 daughters, Terry Wells Woody of Pampa, Texas and Linda Canady John of Newark, New Jersey; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 nieces, Norma Lee Taylor and Joan Love and nephew John Edgar McMahan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters, Mable Summers, Johnnie McMahan Opal True.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2007 at the House High School Gym with Rev. Sherman Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the House Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Scott Lee, Randy Lee, Johnny Lee, Jud Lee, Jason Lee, Ty Sallsbury, Tommy Dinwiddie and Rex Martin Jr. Honorary casket bearers will be John Nunn, Jarle Bjork, Drew Runyon, Robert Wiegl, Wendell Cathy and Mike Love.
