Harold M. Edwards, 78, of Clovis, New Mexico died Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Parkview Nursing Care Center in Muleshoe, Texas. He was born April 7, 1929 in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico to Raleigh and Frona Hunter Edwards.
He graduated from Hardin Simmons University on a full football scholarship. He taught school at Yucca and coached football and he also worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 25 years. He loved horses and the outdoors. He was a member of the Clovis Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Etta Wood of the home in Clovis; 2 daughters, Ivy Axcenty Chris of Blackfoot, Idaho and Marilee Meiwes Chris of Earth, Texas; 5 sons, Denver Edwards Vicki of Midland, Texas, Howard Edwards and Mark Edwards Desire all of Clovis, Billy Edwards of Lubbock, Texas and Robert Edwards Wendy of Dallas, Texas; 3 brothers, Richard Edwards, Grover Edwards and Brown Edwards all of Albuquerque, New Mexico and 19 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Casket bearers will be Denver Edwards, Howard Edwards, Mark Edwards, Billy Edwards, Robert Edwards, Madison Edwards, Matthew Edwards, Blain Bradley, Hunter Edwards, Josh Potocki, Chris Potocki, Brody Edwards and Logan Meiwes.
Services will be at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Clovis with Bishop Larry Hancock and Bishop Oscar Fernandez officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery in Fort Sumner, New Mexico.
