Harold M. Johnson, 89, passed away on January 11, 2022, in Clovis. Harold was born in Rock
Hill, Missouri to Raymond and Beulah (Cassairt) Johnson on August 13, 1932. He married
Carol Price on November 30, 1962, at Cannon Air Force Base. He was a veteran of the Korean
War and served in the United States Marine Corp and the United States Air Force. During his
career, he won numerous shooting matches, was a Marine military police officer, a member of
the Marine Corp Honor Guard, and was an instructor and coach at the United States Air Force
Academy. He was also awarded several Excellence in Competition Pistol Shot Badges, the
United States Distinguished Marksmen Medal and the Military Commendation Medal of Merit.
After retiring from the Air Force Academy, he served as a Clovis Police Department Dispatcher
and a Deputy Game Warden.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son-in-law Todd Hicks, and two brothers; Roy
and Arthur Johnson.
Harold is survived by his son Craig Johnson (Kim), daughter Cindy Martin (Rocky), daughter
Lori Hicks, sister Carol Lous, brother Stanley Johnson, brother-in-law Michael Popescu, three
grandchildren; Blake Hicks (Tamara), Garrett Hicks, and Makinzie Johnson; and three great-
grandchildren; Rylee, Bodie and Talon.
A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
