Harold Arlin Kilmer, of Clovis, NM passed away on 9 May, 2015 at his home in Clovis.
Family will receive family and friends at Steed Todd Funeral Home on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, 16 of May in the Steed Todd Chapel with Kelly Hartz, of Sandia Baptist, officiating. Harold will be buried next to his wife, Cicely at Lawn Haven Cemetery, E Llano Estacado Blvd in Clovis. Arrangements are by Steed Todd.
Harold was born at Iden, NM, six miles east of Vaughn to William (Mike) and Phyllis Byrd Kilmer on Nov 20, 1932. He married Cicely on 6 June, 1958 in Roswell. He worked as a clerk for the ATSF Railroad for 40 years. He graduated Clovis High School in 1950 and served in the Army from 52-54.
Harold was involved in many clubs and organizations including the Historical and Genealogy foundations, Lyceum Theater of Clovis, and the Oldest House in Clovis at the Curry County Fairgrounds restorations and operation. He was very active in New Mexico history and genealogy internet websites.
Harold was also very active in music. He played the violin until very recently with the Friends of Bluegrass of Farwell, TX, Baxter Hall senior center at Clovis, and the Curry County Outlaws (a local country music group).
Harold is preceded in death by his wife Cicely, his brother Gerald, his parents William and Phyllis. Harold is also preceded in death by his dear friend Jan Evans.
Harold is survived by his son John, four nephews, one niece, twenty-two great (great) nephews and nieces, and his sister- in -law.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sandia Baptist Church, the Norvil Howell Music Scholarship Fund, or the clubs and organizations listed above. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Martin and Shrader, the nurses and staff at Interm home healthcare, PRMC of Clovis, and Covenant of Lubbock hospitals. We also wish to thank our friends and neighbors for their assistance and well wishes during his final weeks.
