Harold Schaeffer

Harold Schaeffer, 63, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Thursday, January 21, 2010, at Plains Regional Medical Center. He was born January 4, 1947, in Forest City, Missouri to Clarence Eugene and Anna Mae Wilson Schaeffer.

He graduated from Forest City High School. He served in the U. S. Army 1st Cavalry Division in Viet Nam. He married Janet Jones August 23, 1980 if Fairview Heights, Illinois. He worked for New Mexico American Water Company for 27 years, retiring as Manager in 1999. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in St. Joseph, Missouri and was a member of several veterans organizations. He was also a member of Forest City Christian Church.

He enjoyed restoring his 1966 Ford pickup and helping his neighbors and friends. He was the adopted Grandfather of the Rosewood Drive neighborhood. He loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Janet of the home 2 daughters, Crystal Hunter Bud of Gilbert, Arizona and Ashley Schaeffer of Orlando, Florida 3 brothers, Bob Schaeffer and Don Schaeffer Jenny all of Forest City and Ralph Schaeffer Nancy of St. Joseph.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2010, at SteedTodd Chapel with Stormy Swann officiating. Cremation has taken place.
