Harry Anson

Mr. Harry E. Anson, 82, of Clovis, died Sunday, August 21, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He was born March 18, 1923, in Wichita, Kansas to William and Clara Anson.brbrHe moved to Portales in the 1930s and has resided in the area since. He married Nadine Allen on November 29, 1942, in Clovis. He retired after 35 years of service with the Santa Fe Railroad. He owned and operated Ansons TV Service as a second occupation. Family members said he loved music and played the guitar and harmonica, loved to have fun and enjoyed vacation trips, outings, and reunions. He and his wife played and sang at nursing homes and church. brbrHe was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Anson; two sisters, Margie Stringer and Betty Schlasman; a grandson, Chad Burke; a great-granddaughter, Tamara Rose Anson; and a daughter-in-law, Floy Anson.brbrSurvivors include his wife; three sons, Bob Anson and wife, Betty of Arkansas City, Kansas, Ronny Anson Debbie of Cleveland, Oklahoma, and Larry Anson Sarah of Rolla, Missouri; two daughters, Sharon Miller Steve of Greshem, Oregan, and Kathy Broach Jim of Cleveland, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.brbrVisitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis. The Rev. Kenneth Dunsworth will officiate the services. Burial will be at Grady Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tommy, Adam, Terry, Ronny and Randy Anson, Billy and Bryan Roach, Andrew Thornbury and Juan Chacon.
