Harry Campbell Harvey

Harry Campbell Harvey Jr., 84, of Lubbock passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Carillon House of Lubbock. He was born April 27, 1925 in Hillsboro, Texas to Harry and Pearl Harvey. Harry served his country in the United States Army Air Corp as a veteran of World War II. He graduated from Texas A M with honors where he majored in Entomology. Harry was employed by Ralston Purina Company for 27 years and was honored with many outstanding sales awards.

He was a Deacon and Elder at the First Baptist Church of Clovis, New Mexico for many years and served as a Lay minister at the church for 15 years before moving to Lubbock. He currently was a member of the Cornerstone Bible church of Lubbock. Harry loved ministering to the sick and helping those in need. He had a heart for missions while supporting many missionaries and their work to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world. He was always amazed to see how God worked in his own life and is now in the arms of Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and first wife, Loise Harvey. He is survived by his wife, Wanda of Lubbock; 2 daughters, Mickey Larry Erwin of Clovis and Linda Randy Dayhoff of Lubbock; grandchildren, Geoff Erwin of Dallas, Erik Nancy Erwin of San Diego, CA, Denay Troy Hounshell of Lubbock, Lindsey Dayhoff of Lubbock; stepchildren, Joe L. Gina Bunch and family Coral, Jordon of Plano, Texas, and Zan Talburt and family J.D., Natalie, Taylor, Garrett, Janie Jo of Denton, Texas; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held in Clovis, New Mexico at the First Baptist Church on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. MT with burial to follow at the Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. A special thank you to our extended family, the entire staff and administration of Carillon House, Dr. Enrique Rodriguez and Traci Rodriguez, NP for their devoted care and support.
