Helen Gallegos

Helen Marion Gallegos, age 88, entered into rest on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Plains Regional Medical Center where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 20, 1928 to the home of Jack Compton and Matilda (Tillie) Montoya Asper in Clovis, New Mexico. She married the love of her life, Henry Gallegos on September 9, 1944 and was married 63 years. They were blessed with thirteen children together.

Helen loved cooking for her family. She always made the best tortillas! The best coffee was always made and ready for her children and grandchildren when they would come over. Helen loved to go to BINGO, dancing, and shopping and she loved to watch her western movies.

She is survived by her children; Richard (Viola-Cloudy) Gallegos of Ft. Worth, TX, Joe I. (Helen) Gallegos, Sr., Michael Gallegos, Bobby (Esther) Gallegos, Betty Gallegos, Tony (Bertha Robles) Gallegos, Virginia Garcia, Ruben Gallegos, Daniel Gallegos, Marcella (Jimmy) Apodaca, John (Michelle) Gallegos, and Charlie Gallegos, all of Clovis, NM.; 42 Grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband of 63 years, Henry; an infant son, Paul; her sister Dorothy Ochoa; and her brother-in-law Joe Ochoa.

A Rosary will be recited on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 7:00pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May16, 2017 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Lawn Heaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving as Pall Bearers will be Jimmy Apodaca, Jr., Anthony Gutierrez, Steven Garcia, John Gallegos, Jr., Ethan Gallegos, Andrew Sena, Daniel F. Gallegos, and Joe I. Gallegos III.
