alignjustify Heleneta Carmen Blevins, 90, of Clovis died Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at her sons home in Clovis from injuries sustained from riding a tornado. She was born December 7, 1916 in Eureka, Kansas to Clyde and Betty Reed Divine.
alignjustify She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, but she was also an awesome cook and babysitter. She cooked for the New Mexico Boys Ranch from 1968 to 1974. She and her husband moved to Clovis in 1975 where she babysat over 100 children in her lifetime. She is known as Grandma Blevins to many children or young adults in Clovis. She was well known for her cobblers, pineapple upside down cake, and coconut cream pie. She could cook or bake anything.
alignjustify She is survived by three children, a daughter, Betty Lue Denton Jimmie, two sons, Bob Blevins Lydia and Jim Blevins Iris, a step-daughter, Peggy Vaughn; nine grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She was Grandma to many children she babysat throughout her life.
alignjustify A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Steed-Todd Chapel.
