He returned to the family farm after his tour in the service where he farmed until his retirement in 1990. He was also the owner of Clovis Hog Company for 22 years. Mr. Hathorn was a long time member of the Curry County 42 Club. He was a member of Center Methodist Church and transferred his membership to Trinity Methodist Church.
