Henry S. Sanchez, 79, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. He was born May 30, 1930 in San Patricio, New Mexico, to Perfecto Eulalia Sanchez.
He was a longtime Clovis resident. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He married Carmen Brusuelas September 4, 1954, in Tularosa, New Mexico. He worked as a Floor Covering Specialist for McDaniels Carpet Floor Covering for many years until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He is survived by 1 son, Henry Sanchez Jr. Shanon of Edmond, Oklahoma; 2 daughters, Veronica Goff Jim and Judy Sanchez all of Clovis; grandsons, Joseph Bryant, Robert Goff April and Brandon Sanchez; granddaughter, Cori-Dawn Fields Zane; 3 great granddaughters, Brittany Bryant, Journey Blaise-Sanchez and Kerrington Goff; 1 great grandson, Adan Christopher Fields; 2 brothers, Roy Sanchez and Belson Sanchez and 1 sister, Elma Walters.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; 5 brothers and 1 sister.
A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, at Steed-Todd Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Sotero Sena as celebrant. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers will be David Sanchez, Edward Sanchez, Javier Sanchez, Andrew Sainz, Jimmy Sainz Richard Sainz. Honorary casket bearers will be his grandchildren.
