Mr. H.C. Herb Vldlmeth, 88, of Clovis, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at Plains RegionalbrMedical Center in Clovis. He was born on Sept. 26, 1916, in Plainview, Texas, to Lawrence J. and Minnie A. Davis Wilmeth.brbrHe moved to Fort Sumner in 1929 where his father homesteaded and he grew up. He married Dwalena Dee M. Wylie on Nov. 8, 1941, in Roswell. He served in World War II in the Pacific Theatre and during the Occupation of Japan. He was a member of the American Legion and life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He moved tobrClovis after World War II and made custom built saddles for Bishops Cowboy Supply. In the early 1950s he went to work for the state of New Mexico as a livestock inspector and retired in 1976. brbrHe was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, RD., Jack and Erby Wilmeth. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Pat Wilmeth and wife, Anita and Eddie Joe Wilmeth Wckie, all of Clovis; two sisters-in-law, Madell Wilmeth of Clovis, and Pauline Wilmeth of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five granddaughters, Elaine Hicks, LaNora Hammons, Trisha Dee McAtee, Starlia Clayton, and Kaylia Thomas; 14 great-grand-brchildren, Austin, Morgan, Alexia, and Logan Clayton, Katelyrm, Jarred, and Kara Thomas, Joe and Katherine Hicks, Kristend and Jenifer Hammons, and Breanna,brDanny, and Jordan MacAtee.brbrCecil Bunch will officiate the services. Burial will be at Lawn Haven. Memorial Gardens in Clovis. Pallbearers are Walter and Steve Wilmeth, and Don, Keith, Steven, and Mike Wylie. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.brbrMemorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. brbrArrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.br
