Hobart Mote

Hobart Mote, age 89, of Broadview, New Mexico, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 1, 2011. He was born on November 26, 1921 in Cameron, New Mexico to Paul Hobart Mote, Sr. and Edith Hubble Mote. He served in the Armed Forces and married his childhood sweetheart, Mildred Oleva Burton on May 16, 1942. He was so proud of his military record and his childhood bride. He loved to work in the garden and anything outdoors. He was a great mechanic, if he couldnt fix it, it just wasnt any good. Another love of his was his dogs. He treated them as if they were his children.
He is survived by his wife Mildred of the home three sons, Larry and his wife Nancy Mote of Portales, NM, Keith and his wife Vickie Mote of Albuquerque, NM, and Doug and his wife Nellie Mote of Broadview, NM one brother, Bill Mote of Grady, NM. twelve grandchildren, thirtythree great grandchildren and six greatgreat grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.
Mr. Mote will be available for viewing at the Grady Methodist Church and services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., with burial to follow at the Grady Cemetery. Bill Townsend will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Grady Schools Scholarship Fund in Grady, NM.
