Ignacia Lucero, age 78, of Clovis, New Mexico entered into rest on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
She was born on May 13, 1934 to Miguel and Sarapina Barros Montoya in Los Montoyas, New Mexico. She married Ecipio Lucero. He preceded her in death in 1987. Ignacia loved to dance. She loved her kids and grandkids, novellas and going to church. Ignacia was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis, New Mexico. She loved all flowers and her rose bushes. Marigold flowers were among her favorites. Cooking, baking and being with her family were things she loved. She was known for her cracker pudding and she was a San Antonio Spurs fan. Ignacia could keep a secret.
She is survived by ten children: Eddie Janie Lucero, Leroy Lucero, Miguel MaryAnn Lucero, Ecipio Lucero, Jr., Tommy Lucero, Ernestine Rosalio Marez, Bertha Ruben Cantu, Lorraine Daniel Kirchner, Tonie Jimmy Johnson and Renee David Romero thirtyfive grandchildren, seventynine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013 at SteedTodd Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis, New Mexico. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis with Father Fernando Saenz, officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis. Pall Bearers are Michelle Lucero, April Fisher, Amanda Lucero, Christel Montoya, Laura Marquez, Christina Ruiz, Alice Cruse, Stephanie Lucero and Delilah Romero.
