Irene Craft Bass, 95, of Clovis, died on January 27, 2005 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. She was born on June 11, 1909 in Danville, Virginia to William and Nannie McDowell Craft.brbrShe married Marion Curtis Bass in March of 1936 in Danville, Virginia. Mrs. Bass was a high school graduate and worked for the Waddle Printing Company until their merger with the Rexan Corporation. After the merger she was transferred to Charlotte, North Carolina, and worked for Rexan as a secretary until her retirement. She was a fifty year plus member of the Order of the Eastern Star and held many offices in the Danville Chapter, region, and the State of Virginia. Mrs. Bass was active in church all her life and was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina and a member of Circles in the Methodist Church in Virginia and North Carolina.brbrShe is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marion Curtis Bass. Survivors include one daughter, Marion Irene Bass-Black and her husband, Donald Eugene; one granddaughter, Melissa Irene Kiehne and her husband, Jeffrey; one grandson, Clarence E. Black; one great-granddaughter, Hailey Irene Kiehne; one great-grandson, Donald Jaycee Black; numerous nieces and nephews living in Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and Pennsylvania.brbrServices will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at Steed-Todd Chapel with Rev. Steve Vornov officiating.
