Irene Marquez

Irene Mary Marquez, 81, of Clovis, NM went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2018 at PRMC in Clovis. She was born on October 14, 1936 to Jose and Rita Marquez in Las Vegas, NM.
Our beloved mother was a very loving and caring person, and used that compassion taking care of those in need as a caregiver. She loved shopping in her spare time. When she could, she would press her luck hitting the slot machines. Mom was also a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Preceding her death are: her parents, Jose and Rita Marquez; companion of many years, Eloy Gonzales; son, George Solano; grandson, Gabriel Tapia; great-grandson, Noah Ortiz; and son-in-law, Rick Quintanilla.
She is survived by: sons, Robert (Dolores) Solano and Dennis (Ruby) Solano; daughters, Darlene Ortiz, Margie (Mike) Marin, Stella Chavez, Christine Solano, Barbara Quintanilla, and Eloise Gonzales; brother, Eusebio (Sam) Marquez; 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all.
Cremation has taken place. A rosary will be recited on Friday, March 2, 2018, 10:30am at Steed Todd Funeral Chapel. Her Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 11:00am.
