Isaac Franklin Phillips
Isaac Franklin Phillips of Amarillo, Texas passed away on September 2, 2017. There will be a viewing at Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis, New Mexico at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 7, 2017, followed by Graveside Services at 11:00 am in the Lawn Haven Cemetery, with Pastor Garry Sutton, officiating. Casket Bearers will be Jimmy Phillips, Mark Phillips, Alyssa Phillips, Benjamin Hamar, Garry Sutton, and David Bailey.
Isaac Franklin "Frank" Phillips was born in Taiban, New Mexico to Joel and Annie Phillips on August 17, 1925. He attended school in Taiban and Fort Sumner. He married Geraldine Bailey on May 17, 1951 in Clovis.
Frank was an army veteran of World War II and served in the pacific theater in Okinawa and after the war in Korea. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for most of his adult life until retiring in 1988. He enjoyed wood carving and reading. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, first in Clovis and later in Amarillo.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Thomas, his sisters Ann Bailey, Ollie May Rooney, Sue Masters, Pattie Fredrick, and Pauline Phillips.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Phillips, their three children: Linda Lavender of Amarillo, Jimmy Phillips of Clovis, and Mark Phillips and wife Lisa of Amarillo. Five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home, 1020 Tascosa Rd, Amarillo, TX 79124-1504.
