Jacquetta Kirkland

Jacquetta Sue Kirkland, age 75, of Farwell, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Muleshoe Area Medical Center in Muleshoe, Texas. She was born on February 18, 1936 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Andrew and Beatrice Green.

Sue married Jack Kirkland on August 15, 1952 at the Central Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas. She had been a member of ESA, a high school class parent, for all three of her childrens classes and took up golf after her children were out of school so she could spend quality time with her husband. If you cant beatem, joinem Sue was also a member of First Baptist Church in Farwell.

She is survived by her three children, Jack Allan Michele Kirkland, Duke Rhonda Kirkland, and Leigh Ann Mike Woods eight grandchildren 12 greatgrandchildren and two sisters, Judy Richardson and Rise Green, both of Richardson, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, and a brother Donny Green.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. CDT 1:00 p.m. MDT on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Farwell with Pastor Kyle Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Terrace Cemetery in Farwell. Casket bearers will be Brandon Kirkland, Cameron Kirkland, Dillon Kirkland, Daniel Kirkland, Lance Bradley and Mike Woods. Honorary casket bearers are all of Sues grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Farwell Convalescent Center, P.O. Box 890, Farwell, Texas 79325.
