James Castillo age 28 of Texico, New Mexico was born December 8, 1984 in Amarillo, Texas to Carlos and Hope Gonzalez Castillo. James passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas at the Methodist Main Hospital. James was married January 11, 2007 in Farwell, Texas to Vanessa Mendez. He worked for Southwest Cheese in Clovis and was a loving Dad and Amazing Husband and Loved the Lord. He attended Faith Christian Family Church.

A Prayer service will be held Friday, September 20, 2013 at Steed Todd Chapel in Clovis at 6:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Steed Todd Funeral Home in Clovis with Pastor Refugio Arredondo, Jr. officiating at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Texico Cemetery in Texico, New Mexico with Tom Castillo, Carlos Castillo, Jr., Andrew Castillo, Julian Sena, Martin Mendez, and Fernando Mendez serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James Castillo, Jr., Anthony Mora, Oswaldo Mendez, Carlos Castillo III, Isaac Ortiz, Josh Walthers, and Alex Barraz.

James is survived by his wife Vanessa Castillo of the Home three children Valerie Castillo, James Castillo, Jr., and Nadia Castillo all of the Home parents Carlos and Hope Castillo of Texico, NM one sister Crystal Ortiz of Texico, NM four brothers Tom Castillo, Carlos Castillo, Jr., and Paul Castillo all of Texico and Andrew Castillo of Portales, New Mexico.
