James Claiborne

April 20, 1919 — May 13, 2009


James Claiborne, 90, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Retirement Ranch in Clovis. He was born April 20, 1919, in Trinidad, Colorado to James Ernest Carmel Harmon Claiborne.

He married Maurine E. Moseley March 21, 1938 in Coleman, Texas. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He moved to Clovis in 1953 and owned and operated Claiborne Refrigeration until his retirement in 1974. He was a member of 16th Pile Church of Christ and a lifetime member of Saratoma. He was a loving father, grandfather great grandfather. He loved to fish and to go elk hunting.

He is survived by 1 daughter, Ann Emerson Al of Centenial, Colorado; 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Christina and Randy; 4 great grandchildren and 1 brother, Harold of Coleman, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maurine and 2nd wife, Charlene; 2 brothers, Curtis Raymond and 1 sister, Evelyn Johnson.

Services will at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at 16th Pile Church of Christ in Clovis with Jim Gammon officiating. A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. CDT Friday, May 22, 2009 at Coleman Cemetery in Coleman, Texas.

Casket bearers will be Ryan Emerson, Raymond Johnston, Ed Inman, Bob Norris, Garvin Chandler Lee Stevenson.
