James Short

James Jim Short, 71, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, in Texico, New Mexico. He was born January 17, 1939, in Nappa Valley, California to Harvey and Ida Short.

He was a longtime resident of Portales, New Mexico and Clovis. He worked at the Safeway Milk Plant for many years retiring in the 1980s. He was a member of the VFW and the Eagles Lodge.

He is survived by 1 daughter, Darla Short of Portales 1 daughterinlaw, Linda Short of Portales 3 grandchildren, Stephanie, Kassandra and Dennis Short companion, Nora Curren of Texico, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 son, Richard Rick Short.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2010, at SteedTodd Chapel in Clovis.

Honorary casket bearers will be all his friends and fishing buddies and members of the VFW and the Eagles Lodge.
