Jennie Harrison

Jennie Cleo Harrison, 88, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Monday June 29, 2009, at the Retirement Ranch in Clovis. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2009 at Steed-Todd Chapel with Michael Trower officiating. Burial will follow at Hollene Cemetery.

She was born October 10, 1920, in Hollene, NM, to Arthur Jessie Hickman. She married Virgle Harrison, on May 23, 1936, in Portales, NM and they lived most of their married life farming in the Hollene community.

She loved people and was always willing to help. She loved the Lord and served Him at Rosedale Baptist Church until she moved to Clovis. Her family and friends were very special to her with her grandchildren being her greatest joy. She was active in the Curry County Federation of Republican Women and served as chairman for many years. She started her own business called Eastern New Mexico Hearing Aid Center in Clovis and worked there until her retirement. She was a member of Faith Family Christian Church at the time of her death.

She is survived by a daughter, Latitia Kelley Leon and daughter-in-law, Glenda Harrison both of Clovis; eight grandchildren, Randy Harrison Alisha of Clovis, Kim Powell Brad of Clovis, Karen Nusser Melvin of Portales, Kathy Robertson Roger of Lubbock, TX, Keith Harrison Angie of Meadow, TX, Darren Kelley Jennifer of Clovis, Jay Kelley Amy of Clovis, Kenda Houk Bret of Edmond, OK; twenty two great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren; one sister, Jan Powell John of Clifton, TX; brothers-in-law Paul Harrison of Texico, NM and Earl Harrison Charlene of Abilene, TX and sister-in-law, Lucy Harrison of Clovis and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Ken Harrison; her sister, Jaunita Griffiths and her brother, Neal Hickman.

Pallbearers will be Randy Harrison, Keith Harrison, Darren Kelley, Jay Kelley, Doug Harrison and Mark Harrison.
