Jerry Ellison

Jerry D. Ellison, 83, of Farwell Texas, passed away on April 12, 2017.

Visitation will be 3:00pm to 5:00pm Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis, New Mexico.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 17, 2017 at 12:00 Central Time, at Hamlin Memorial Methodist Church in Farwell Texas. Burial will follow at Bovina Cemetery at 3:00pm.

Jerry was born in Clovis, New Mexico to Katie and Hubert Ellison on February 19, 1934. He attended school in Bovina. He married Douise McCormick on September 26, 1959 in Bovina.

Jerry enjoyed spending time with family, traveling in his Holiday Rambler, and golfing. He served in the Army in his earlier years. He also enjoyed working, building, and maintaining various projects and properties he owned. Jerry loved to build things and was a professional carpenter and plumber. He worked as a contractor the majority of his life. He worked at and then owned State Electric and Mechanical for 55 years and built many of the properties at Cannon Air Force Base as well as many buildings in Clovis and Farwell. Those who knew him well would tell you he was one of the hardest working people they knew and deeply valued doing the job right the first time, on schedule and within budget.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, his son Tim Ellison, and his sister Jimmie Howard.

He is survived by his wife Douise, his daughter Ginger and her husband Lance Towle. He is also survived by his 2 other sisters, Lois Damron, and Lillie Christian.

Pallbearers will be Lance Towle, Steve Williams, Billy Cummings, Alton McCormick, Vick Christian, and Todd Christian. Alternate Pallbearer will be Jeff McCormick.
