Jimmy "Jim" Henson passed away on November 9, 2021 at the age of 83 in his hometown of Clovis, New Mexico.
His battle with serious medical issues in recent weeks showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile and kind heart. Despite the pain, Jim came out a true cowboy legend and stayed strong until the end.
Visitation will be at Steed Todd Funeral Home Friday, November 12 beginning at 4:00 p.m. A private burial will follow at Lawn Haven Cemetery.
Jim was born November 17, 1937 in Clovis. His proud parents were Milton and Geneva Henson. He was the loving brother to one sister, Roxanna Crooks and husband Paul, and one brother Jerry Henson and wife Joanie of Clovis.
Jim met the love of his life, Peggy Brewer, and married his sweetheart on July 13, 1957.
They had two children, Jay Henson and wife Gena of Hugoton, KS, and Terri Lewis and husband Mike of Hobbs, N.M. He has three granddaughters who adored him, Channing Hawks and husband Dustin of Hugoton, Kambri Eichenberger and partner Amanda of Lubbock, TX, and Kalee Haragan and husband Marshall of Lubbock; as well as four great-grandchildren Cutter, Cort, Thomas, and his mutton buster Brecklyn. Jim has many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
Jim was a rare individual that lived in the wrong era. His life could have been scripted from a true American Wild West Novel. All that knew him would agree Jim "PawPaw" was a true cowboy legend that will live on in each of our hearts forever.
Ride tall in the saddle our love!
