Jimmy Davis Jr, age 61, passed away in Clovis, NM on July 25, 2016.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 10:00am at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held Friday, July 29, 2016 from 6-8pm at Steed Todd Funeral Home.
Jimmy was born October 22, 1954 in Odessa, Texas to James Edwin Davis Sr. and Betty Jo Haley. Jimmy grew up in Midland, Texas and graduated from Midland Lee High School. He worked as a sheet rocker for a while. He met Terrie Howard in Midland and they got married January 16, 1982. They were happily married until Terrie passed away January 27, 2013. Jimmy loved her very, very much. Terrie and Jimmy eventually moved to Clovis, New Mexico where Jimmy started working for Cissell Transfer and Storage. He loved his job and was a faithful employee for 27 years. Jimmy loved the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, anything to do with horses or rodeo and Duck Dynasty. If you knew Jimmy you'd know he loved Sweet Tea and Dr. Pepper. He loved his family and his dog muffin very much and especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter Katie and granddaughter Jaelyn. He was loved by all who knew him and he was a good man.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter Katie Lynn Davis of Clovis, NM; his granddaughter Jaelyn Ava Marie Chavez of Clovis, NM; his dog muffin; his brother Marvin and Monica Davis of Arlington, TX; his sister Rebecca and Don Roberson of Midway, TX; his sister Sue Potter of Midland, TX; he has 2 nieces, 7 great nieces, 5 great-great nieces, 2 nephews, 2 great nephews and 4 great-great nephews; brother in law Gary and Suzy Howard of Melrose, NM; sister in law Sherene and Bob Swanson of Augusta, Montana; mother in law Linda Howard of Portales, NM and close friends Louie and Lynn Cortez of Stanton, TX.
Honorary bearers are Marvin Dale Davis, Gary Howard, Sterling Howard, Louie Cortez, Jonathan Chavez and all the employees of Cissell transfer and Storage.
