Joan Ewing

Joan R. Ewing, age 82, of Clovis, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8 at SteedTodd Funeral Home. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 9 at SteedTodd Chapel with Rev. Keath Baskett officiating, and Rev. Louis Pattison assisting. Honorary casket bearers will be Joans friends and family. Burial will be with her husband at a later date in Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Joan was born on March 2, 1929 in Bowie, Texas to Tyson and Irene Roach. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Sue Howard, and niece, Denise Howard, both of Bull Head City, Arizona nephew and wife, Tyson and Janet Howard of Placerville, California cousins, Kay Daniels and husband, Lee, of Granbury, Texas, and Betty Reynolds and husband, Don, of Ventura, California.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Veryl Milton Ewing.

Joan was a member of the Curry County Home Demonstration Club. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed her handwork hobby. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clovis.

We rejoice that she is free of pain and suffering but it is with saddened heart that we say goodbye to her, a devoted friend to all. May her spirit of love and generosity live on in the lives of each of us.
