Joe Carrel (JC) Dennington, 84, of Clovis, NM died April 13, 2015. He was born on March 28, 1931 in Broadview, NM to Alberta Sheridan and Joe Phil Dennington. He was married for 65 years to the love of his life and forever mate, Murl Kleeman, eldest daughter of Alice and Albert Kleeman.
Carrel attended New Mexico State University and farmed for 55 years in Clovis, NM. His life passion was teaching everyone he knew about the love of His Saviour, Jesus Christ. This was evident through his leadership at the 21st St. Church of Christ in Clovis, where he served as an elder for many years. He also taught many Bible classes. He volunteered at the "Lighthouse" and "Bread of Life", serving meals and teaching about his hope. His family includes 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 on the way. They all call him "Pa".
Carrel is survived by wife, Murl Kleeman Dennington, his son, Albert Dennington (Vicki) of Austin, TX, his daughters Debby Dennington of Goodyear, AZ, Anita Webb (Virgil) of Brady, TX, and Diane Massey of Denton, TX; as well as his precious grandchildren, Alicia Webb Montgomery (Kevin) of Webster, TX, Jason Webb (Michelle) of Corinth, TX, Aaron Dennington (Jessica) of Austin, TX, Alan Dennington (Kristina) of Southlake, TX, Adrian Dennington (Melani) of Lubbock, TX, Bryan Massey (Aimee) of Tyler, TX, Christopher (CC) Massey (Kimberly) of Lubbock, TX, Denny Donofrio (Courtney) of Phoenix, AZ and Danielle Donofrio of Gilbert, AZ. Surviving great grandchildren include Bethany Montgomery, Aaris, Titus and Skylyn Dennington, Cosette, Reef and Scout Dennington, Noah Dennington, Emerson and Ellis Massey and Austin and Colton Massey and a baby due in July. He is also survived by his sister, Wenona Dennington Martin of Arlington, TX, Sisters in Law, Nadine Wilhite and Jean Kelso and her husband, Max Kelso of Clovis, NM and numerous nephews, nieces, and close friends from his many years of living in Clovis.
The family would like to offer our most sincere thanks to Dr. Bruce Purdy of Muleshoe, TX the medical staffs and all those associated with his care at the Muleshoe Hospital and Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX for the loving care and concern they gave and exhibited to Carrel and his entire family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the 21st Street Church of Christ in Clovis, NM. Honorary Pallbearers will include the Elders at the 21st Street Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in support of Texas International Bible Institute, for Kevin Montgomery, 1502 Avenue I, South Houston, TX 77587.
