Joe Herman Sena, age 68, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at St. Anthonys Healthcare in Clovis, NM. He was born on April 18, 1943 in Ft. Sumner, NM to Olegario and Petra Romero Sena. He married Christine Montano in August, 1966.
He began working at Clovis Steam Laundry at the age of 15 until their closing where he then went to work for Curry County Grain, where he worked for many years. He was employed by Newt and Butch as a roofer until his illness progressed. He loved music, lowrider cars and most of all, he loved his sports. He was a big boxing fan, and of course loved football, basketball, and baseball as well. He was a very loving and caring father, brother, uncle, and friend. Everyone knew him as a compassionate, hardworking person. He will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include his three sons, Joseph Sena and his wife Melissa of Clovis, NM, Adrian Sena and his wife Cindy of Clovis, NM, and Timothy Salas of Corpus Christy, TX one daughter Cynthia Sena of Clovis, NM four sisters, Paula Baca and her husband Jesus of Clovis, NM, Rose Sena of Clovis, NM, Pricilla Hooker of Bellville, IL, and Fannie Downing of Charleston, SC grandchildren J.D., Leandra, and Andrew Sena, Brianna, Christopher, Esai Montoya, Desiree Sena, , Brittney White, and Timothy Salas, Jr. T.J..
He is preceded in death by his parents, Olegario and Petra Sena, and one brother, Olegario Sena, Jr.
A rosary will be resided on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the SteedTodd Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Carlos Chavez, officiating. Burial will take place at St. Anthonys Catholic Cemetery in Ft. Sumner, NM on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Trujillo, Frank Cortez, Frankie Montano, Daniel Sandoval, Danny Baca, and Eddie Montoya. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Sanchez, Robert Baca, Gilbert Baca, Gary Baca, Steve Baca, Larry Sena, Kenny Ogilvy, Bobby Hooker, and Tony Dowling.
The family would like to specially thank Dr. Macapinlac of the PRMC Cancer Center and also Jennifer, Nancy, Sylvia, and Elaine from PRMC Hospice. They have all been a blessing.
