Joe "Ricky" Chavez

Joe Richard Chavez was born on November 20, 1952 in Roswell, NM, to Abelino and Mary Chavez. Mr. Chavez died Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at the Covenant center in Lubbock, Texas. Joe or as most knew him as "Ricky" enjoyed crafts, leather working, knife forging, and painting. Ricky truly loved spending time with his family and friends, but especially loved time with his grandchildren.

Ricky is survived by his 3 sons: Severo, Elias and Isaac Chavez, 7 grandchildren: John Anthony Chavez Menifee California, Sammy Chavez of Bernalillo, NM, Joshua and Christopher Moralez, and Andrew and Karlie Chavez of Clovis NM, 5 brothers: Pete and Grace Chavez of Portales, NM Gabriel and Sara Chavez, Pat and Diane Chavez, Abelino Chavez Jr. as well as Dennis and Maria Chavez all of Clovis, NM.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Abelino and Mary Chavez, one Brother: Andres Chavez, one nephew: Johnny Joe Lucero, and his beloved wife, Martha J Chavez.

A memorial service will be for both Martha and Ricky Chavez the 12th of June 2021 at The Chavez Ranch at 10am.
