Funeral arrangements for John S. Amaro age 92 of Clovis, New Mexico will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Fernando Saenz officiating. A Rosary Service will be held Friday, September 13, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 6:00 p.m. burial will be held at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis with Carlos Bojorquez, Joseph Amaro, Fabian Amaro, Martin Amaro, Jerry Hernandez and Nick Mondragon as pallbearers.

John was born March 19, 1921 in Clovis, New Mexico to Gonzalo and Hilaria Hernandez Amaro. John served in the U.S. Army and had worked for the Railroad and was most known for welding. John married Agneda Salas December 24, 1945 in Clovis. John loved watching wrestling, playing Bingo, Dancing mostly doing the Jitter Bug and enjoyed spending time at the Eagles.

John is survived by his children son John Amaro, Jr. of Clovis daughter Vickey Manuel Mendez of Austin, Texas son Pete Madelyn Amaro of Clovis daughter Mariaelena Charles Bojorquez of Clovis daughter Maria Dolores Amaro of Clovis and Jose Amaro of Clovis nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and a Aunt Cuca Ponce of El Paso, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one sister Alicia Carrillo.
