John Dewey Eshleman, 32, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at his home in Clovis. He was born April 2, 1977, in Portales, New Mexico, to Billy Jack Sharon Ann Cole Eshleman.
John graduated from Clovis High School in 1995 and attended Clovis Community College. He graduated from the Eastern New Mexico School of Massage Therapy.
John was a very special young man. John was physically challenged his whole life, rarely letting anything keep him from accomplishing his goals. He never met a stranger, and anyone who knew John left feeling blessed. His smile was contagious He loved his family and Jesus Christ. He loved to be outdoors, to swim and to fish. He had a pond he loved to mess with in the yard. He loved his dogs, they were his best friends. He especially loved his niece and nephew, Ali and Samuel.
He is survived by his mother, Sharon of the home; his father, Billy of West of Clovis; sister, Jacque Williams Toby of Amarillo, Texas; grandparents, Johnny Verna Eshleman of West of Clovis; his niece and nephew, Ali Samuel Williams. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom Vanna Cole of Clovis and uncle, Terry Cole of Albuquerque.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Steed-Todd Chapel with Cecil Bunch officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers will be Newlee Hester, Jared Eshleman, Brian Crowder, Cooper Mitchell, Toby Williams Lonnie Downs. Honorary casket bearers will be Ross and Austyn Steinbock.
