John Lesly

John D. Lesly, 32, of Hobbs, New Mexico, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 in Hobbs. He was born August 4, 1978 in Muleshoe, Texas to John and Kathyrn Kemp Lesly.

He attended school in Clovis and resided most of his adult life in Clovis. He helped his family process cattle and later moved to Hobbs where he worked as a machinist. He enjoyed traveling, history and rescuing shelter animials. He was an avid sports fan.

He is survived by his father stepmother, John Lisa Deline Lesly of Shreveport, Louisiana 1 brother, Mike Barker of Houston, Texas Nephew, Jared Barker of Cheyenne, Wyoming and 2 nieces, Cassidy Barker of Houston, Texas and Katlyn Grace West of Monroe, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Lesly daughter, Rebecca Cheyenne Lesly and sister, Gena Gayle Barker.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 at SteedTodd Chapel with Rev. Dick Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Casket bearers will be Hollis Lesly, Kevin Joe Lesly, Ivey Lesly, Mike Barker, Forrest Lesly and Joe Garcia. Honorary casket bearer is Israel Gomez.
